Choctaw County Career and Technology Center Student Highlights

Austin Duncan is an Agricultural Power and Machinery student here at CCCTC.  When asked why he is taking a CTE course, he responded, " I am a CTE student because I want to learn how to weld.  My father was a welder and I wanted to take the opportunity to learn about it.  CTE has had such an influential impact on my education and career.  My dream career is to become an art teacher.  Welding would be a great skill for creating art."  He goes on to say, "my favorite class in Ag Power and Machinery.  I am enjoying creating something from scratch."  Austin goes on to say, "I feel that CTE has adequately prepared me an many other students for college and career readiness.  CTE classes gives you hands-on experiences in the field and teaches problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.  CTE has prepared me for the skills I need to be successful!"
